May has been full of momentum and meaningful moments. From cookies and conversations at our monthly meeting to cheering on runners at the MacArthur Park 5K, every photo tells a story of connection.

We strolled the historic streets of MacArthur Park District during the 60th Quapaw Quarter Tour of Homes, caught up over a couple of pints at Moody Brews in Pettaway, and soaked in the sun at the Little Rock Farmers Market. These snapshots remind us that building community happens in the big events and the small ones — in planning meetings, shared meals, and Saturday mornings by the river.

This is what it looks like when neighbors show up, so please join us at our next meeting coming up on Thursday, June 3rd.

This past month, our neighborhoods were alive with celebration, reflection, and community care. From the rediscovering of the historic spring water site at the MLK Jr. Cultural Center to peaceful moments during Juneteenth's Sunset Yoga in the Park, we witnessed how space and place continue to ground us. SoMa PRIDE and Juneteenth in Da Rock filled the streets resilient and joyful people — a vivid reminder that our city is at its best when everyone is seen, heard, and celebrated.

We also found inspiration in the rhythms of 2nd Friday Art Night and live music in Pettaway Square — creative outlets that remind us how culture builds connection. As we approach Independence Day, these snapshots affirm that freedom isn’t just a legacy, it’s a living practice. We honor it not only with fireworks but with everyday actions — building trust, nurturing each other, and protecting what makes our urban core feel like home.

From shady strolls down Main Street to artful conversations at AMFA, this month we’re looking at how sustainability shows up in our community. Whether it's fresh veggies at the Farmers Market, volunteers tackling litter in the streets, or the joyful chaos of bike rides at rush hour, Downtown Little Rock is alive with people investing in a better, more livable future.

This issue celebrates the everyday and intentional: local policy, personal choices, and collective action that all move us toward a more sustainable, resilient city. And just in time—the draft Central Arkansas Climate Action Plan is live, and your voice matters. Read on, stay curious, and keep showing up.
